See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

A splendid traditional pub, set back from road behind a small green, which although recently refurbished retains much character. Simple wood furnishings, candles on scrubbed tables, bare floorboards and a large fireplace (recently fitted with a wood-burner) provide an effective back-drop to the excellent beer that was once brewed behind the pub, but which is now brewed in Debenham (a couple of miles away). Home made, good value meals are available from a very varied menu at both lunchtimes & evenings (see chalkboards). The pub can get busy, especially at weekends, but is definitely worth a visit. There's occasional live music. Poker dice is played.
