An excellent traditional, two bar community pub with quiz nights, darts, and a selection of books for customers to read. It is a meeting place for local groups of all kinds. There are no gaming machines and no background music. There is regular live music, including usually jazz on Sunday evenings.

Since Dec 2025 the pub has been run by a local brewer (who previously ran Mr Bees) and who has created a new beer range for the pub that includes: Wally Bitter, Badger's Dark & Landguard IPA. At least one of these beers is usually available.
