See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

This picturesque thatched, two bar pub is worth seeking out. The dispense of beer is still by gravity direct from the cask. Bar billiards can be played. Accompanied dogs and horse riders are welcome (there is a paddock for the latter nearby). There's a folk Night on alternate Wednesdays and the quiz nights are popular. Shottisham villagers raised funds to buy the pub by selling shares in the pub in 2011 & 2012. Traditional food, mostly home made including vegetarian options is available. But behave yourself, otherwise you may find yourself in the pillory that's situated in the garden. They now hold music nights on the second Monday of the month with a guest folk performer or group, and occasionally on the fourth Monday with an act from another genre, such as jazz, blues, etc.
